Have I told you lately that
I love red??
It’s always been my favorite color.
This is my favorite bird, by the way, and my favorite baseball team, of course.
So, with this being the month for Valentine’s Day, it’s a good month to celebrate RED!
I love my red coat; I love red berries. I love red velvet cake, red apples, red tulips, red hair, red wagons, red cheeks, red strawberries, red crayoned hearts, red leaves, red ladybugs, red tomatoes, red enamel bowls, red geraniums, red chickens, red pickup trucks, red kisses on soft, sweet-smelling baby foreheads.
February needs red, doesn’t it? For it’s often gray outside at this time of year, and sort of drab. And we’re hungry for touches of brightness, for glimpses of color in the landscape, indoors or out.
So, I challenge you to find a little red somewhere today and enjoy it!
Then, come back and tell me about it…

We have always worn/used lots of red in our clothing and our home. As you say lots of red because growing up the children’s schools all seemed to have red for their colors and it is just such a picker upper color. We have about 2ft. of snow I’m sure with 4′ drifts. I was so thankful that we didn’t get the ice you did down your way. Hope you kept your electricity. I thought of you. I just hope someone will hook up a plow so we can get out of here tomorrow before this next snow comes through. Wil is in such pain even with the meds. Something new for us for sure. I’m use to dealing on a daily basis with pain but he is just never not “all right”.
Bless your heart! I just saw a red cardinal. I do not feed the birds but did toss out last night’s left over popcorn and it quickly attracted a stunning cardinal but alas not for long. The bullying bluejays in a flash fluttered to the popcorn and away flew my beautiful flash of red. For that brief moment it was delightful and then as I returned to Xanga you had this posted. The timing is wonderful. I love red also especially red cardinals! You have lovely pictures.
Lots of cardinals here right now, with the snow.
Our local high school’s mascot is the cardinal so we had lots of red around here when our children were growing up. I just did a post recently with pictures of cardinals — they are so beautiful against the white snow and the evergreens.
My wife likes those red envelopes on Chinese New Year (tomorrow). I had to run to the bank at lunch.

@grace2be - Thanks for coming over to my site, grace2be–red is def a popular color in Canada! I’ve got some other Canadian friends–you’re in good company here.
How pretty! We have a raft of them visiting our feeders. I saw 6 males at one time. I figure they must be related since the males aren’t fighting.
I stopped by on Granny Hummingbirds recommendation….and I see we have something in common I adore the beautiful cardinal too!! I have a bird feeder right outside my window and I can sit here and enjoy them as they feast on the bird food I put out for them…in fact there is one outside right now!!!
