* * * SNOWY MORNING IN THE OZARKS * * *
Even before the sun arose, some were feeling a frosty friskiness. Maybe they needed to warm up….it was only 10 degrees.
As for me, I just needed to get out and soak up some of the loveliness. This snowy lane beckoned…
My favorite old red barn and my favorite old stacked-stone fence in fresh garb…
Later in this windy day, the pines and cedars would shrug off their winter coats, but early in the morning they were still wearing them….
Our creeks are beautiful in any season, but perhaps especially so right now…
Can you see the eagle-speck up above this evergreened and frosted ridge? His bald head was beautiful against the blue sky, but he was not eager to be photographed.
Coming out on top was breath-taking. I could see for miles and miles and miles…

BEAUTIFUL!!!
All of your pictures are stunning…..thank you so much for sharing them!
A note to your readers: if you click on the pictures, you will see them full size!
Oh Janet, these are breathtakingly beautiful. But it does look COLD. We’re having lots of snow, but the gray, overcast skies don’t make it so inviting to be outside.
Your snow pictures are breath-taking! Reminds me of the snow storms we would get when I was growing up in the beautiful Shenandoah Vally. We lived along the banks of North River and the snow storms were so pretty. Mother and Father to this day love a good snow storm and being able to be inside watching the birds and beauty all around.
Nothing left to say, except BEAUTIFUL!!!!
These pictures are so beautiful! Capturing the frisky horses was a great moment.
Re: knitting instructions I am not an advanced knitter but have made booties, hats and baby sweaters years ago. I like to make things that are of some use and anymore with yarn not being inexpensive and with all the imported things I sometimes feel I am wasting my time knitting. But scarves are all the rage now and I’ve made several with matching caps but thought the pattern of the scarf you pictured looked so lovely maybe I should give it a try. When my 3 children were little I knitted all their afghans, booties(do babies still even wear them anymore)baby sweaters and later caps and vests. I made a jumper for my daughter and she wore it until she grew too tall and I passed it on to a niece. But all these patterns were rather simple. Actually I enjoy crocheting over knitting but like the stitches of knitting better. Knitting is a grand way to pass an evening on a long winter’s night isn’t it?
WOW! These are some of the most stunning pictures I’ve ever seen! You’re truly blessed to live in such a beautiful place my friend.
Gorgeous, the whit shimmery cover of snow is so beautiful! We had 2 foot yesterday.
Great pictures!
You have a gift with the camera, my friend! Absolutely beautiful in subject and composition. Our snow is so deep right now that to take a hike in it would be to invite a heart attack! We had another foot or so yesterday on top of the 30 inches we got on Saturday. This never happens here, so as you may imagine, our tiny state is rather paralyzed!
Beautiful pictures – love the one of the creek – really pretty.
BEAUTIFUL pictures!!
Great photos! These storms seem to be a bonanza for photographers everywhere.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Beautiful! Just the way I love to see snow; in pictures!
I love the shot of the creek.
beautiful!
@Suzyquekau - I cannot even IMAGINE 40 inches of snow! Mercy!
Seeing snow in photos is about the only way I want to enjoy it anymore. I really liked my snowy moment here at your site!
